She debuted in the year 2017 with the movie Maa Abbayi in the lead role along with the actor Sree Vishnu. Chitra Shukla was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh.
Chitra Shukla was an active contestant on the Indian dance reality show Dance India Dance and moved to Mumbai for further rounds. Earlier to the movie industry, Chitra was a participant of Dance India Dance, an Indian dance reality show which aired on Zee TV. Before working in movies Chitra appeared in various TV ads, print shoot, jewelry shoot for Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada, she also appeared in one album song. During her schooling days, she had a keen interest in dancing and she participated in her school functions and won few trophies like MP State Competition, etc.. Her passion for dance led her to get selected for the Indian dance reality show 'Dance India Dance' on Zee TV for which she had to move to Mumbai. While she was in Mumbai she started looking for acting opportunities and in meantime, she joined a dance group where her cousin was a part of. Joining the dance group gave her an opportunity to work closely with the great choreographers. Her teacher Kishore Namit Kapoor suggested her to accept the offer and thus she made her debut in Maa Abbayi opposite Sree Vishnu. Her second Telugu film is titled Rangula Ratnam and she is cast opposite to the actor Raj Tarun.
